Rosal Ortega Flamenco
Rosal Ortega Flamenco: A Legacy of Passion, Culture, and Community Wellness!
Rosal Ortega is a renowned Spanish Classical and Flamenco dancer, singer and choreographer born & based in Santa Barbara, California. A 9th generation Cota & Ortega families descendent from the Santa Barbara Presidio days. Her granddaughter was Juan Cota & mom, Irene Rosita Cota Tuttle, both whom were influential figures in the Santa Barbara dance community. Rosal began her dance journey at the age of six & by thirteen was performing professionally in Seville, Spain. She is a former Old Spanish Days Spirit of Fiesta & her extensive training includes collaborations with esteemed artists such as Juan Talavera, Roberto Amaral, Clarita Corona & Arte Flamenco & Paco & Yolanda Arroyo, among others. Over the years, Rosal has performed in various venues across California & the USA. She has performed internationally & directed her own company on a six-month tour in Japan. She performed in Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe & Reno with the Spanish Dance Company of Cuchi, Cuchi Girl, Charo. For the past 15 years Rosal has performed on-going in the Los Angeles area in performances directed by Yvette Garcia “La Sole”. Rosal currently directs her own dance company Rosal Ortega & Flamenco Olé & offers Adult beginner flamenco dance programs. Passion, Culture & Community!
